Five Veteran Quran Activists, A Quranic Manager Honored at Ceremony in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony dubbed ‘A Lifetime with Quran’ was held here in the Iranian capital on Friday to honor those serving the Holy Book.

 

Five Quran activists and the manager of a Quran institute were hailed at the ceremony for their services to the Sacred Book.

Jointly organized by the Quran Cultural Center and Tehran Municipality’s Cultural and Art Organization, it began with recitation of verses from the Quran by Ahmad Abolqassemi and Ibtihal recitation by Hassan Khalkhali.

Head of the Quran Cultural Center Rahim Khaki then addressed the event, noting that it had been planned to be held last year but was postponed several times due to the coronavirus situation in the country.

He said a list of Quran experts and activists was compiled and a committee was set up to shortlist the candidates.

At the end, Khaki noted, five veteran Quran activists, namely Ali Akbar Toupchi, Mohammad Abbasi, Morteza Labani, Ahmad Abolqassemi, and Abbas Akhavayn as well as Ozra Roshandel, the director of Nour al-Zhara Cultural-Quranic Institue were shortlisted to be honored at the ceremony.

Also addressing the event was Hojat-ol-Islam Meysam Amroudi, head of the Tehran Municipality’s Cultural and Art Organization, who said serving the Quran is a true value and the secret to be lasting figures.

“A Lifetime with the Quran” ceremony is annually held in mid-Ramadan, which marks the birth anniversary of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (AS).

Its 19th edition had been slated for 2020 but was postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
